Direct flights to La Union by SEAIR

I finally got the time to blog! So, for starters, here are some great news from SEAIR… They’ve recently opened a route to San Fernando, La Union!

Perfect timing, as it’s summer. As you know, La Union is famous for its waves — a perfect surfing destination. I don’t know how to surf, though I’ve been wanting to learn. Plans to go surfing with friends have been on the back-burner for almost a year now, everyone’s just a bit too busy to make any concrete plans. Hopefully, with this new route, planning for a trip to La Union would be easier, as we don’t need to factor in the long bus rides (frankly, the only way I know going to La Union is through bus ride from Manila).

But wait, there’s more! Aside from flying to La Union every Monday, Wednesday and Friday starting 14 April 2010, SEAIR also offers a complimentary 45-minute land transfer to Baguio City! More…

Transit: Resort island of Boracay

Before the Caticlan airport opened, going to Boracay took a long time. Upon touchdown to Kalibo, one must take land transportation going to the Caticlan jetty port—which was usually more than an hour away. But smaller planes landing on Caticlan now makes it possible to get to Boracay sooner—15 to 20 minutes tops.

From the Caticlan airport, the jetty port is just less than 5 minutes away. Hotels and some guesthouses provide “airport transfers” which include the boat ride going to Boracay for a fee, though South East Asian Airlines (SEAIR) provide their passengers complimentary shuttle ride from the airport to the jetty port and a boat ride to Boracay Island. Fine dining on board Etihad Airways

Nope, I haven’t got a chance to board Etihad Airways (I rode the Philippines’ flagship carrier for my trips to Hongkong and Thailand). But I did, together with my husband Marc and a few other bloggers, had a chance to sample the airline’s world-class airplane food.

Club sandwich and potato chips

Last 6 February 2009, Etihad Airways (the flagship carrier of United Arab Emirates) launched it new premium class service called, “inspired service.” Closely overseen by the airline’s food and beverage managers, this premium service will offer a-ala-carte and kitchen menus (European and Arabic cuisine) to passengers and allow them to eat whenever they wish—just like a fine-dining restaurant.
