For surface water sports enthusiasts, Bulabog Beach is the place to be in Boracay Island, Aklan. The winds are stronger here—especially during the rainy season—the perfect weather condition for windsurfing and kite boarding.
This narrow strip of beach is parallel to the more popular White Beach. White Beach faces west, while Bulabog Beach the east. You can easily reach Bulabog Beach from the other side by crossing through a narrow road.
If you’re coming from the other side of Boracay, you’d be surprised how different the weather is in this area. White Beach winds are pretty calm, but Bulabog’s is so windy that wearing a skirt would be the last thing you should do. The beach there is shorter too, and there aren’t many restaurants and hotels like in White Beach—Bulabog Beach is instead lined with shops offering wind sports equipment rental and services.
Since my travel companions and I weren’t into wind sports (my husband Marc would probably want to give it a try, but he was likewise as inexperienced as the rest of us were), we just took photos of kite boarders and windsurfers riding the winds and the sea.
